Well done to all our Year 13 students on achieving exam results to help them follow their career dreams.

There were improvements in results across the board at Laisterdyke, with our vocational course results showing the biggest increase.

Our BTEC students achieved fantastic pass rates in a variety of subjects:

  • a 100% D* pass rate in Applied Science
  • a 95% D* pass rate in Health & Social Care
  • a 100% D*-D pass rate in Business, with 90% students achieving D*
  • a 100% D*-D pass rate in ICT, with 93% of students achieving D*.

93% of Laisterdyke students will be kick-starting their careers by taking up higher education courses at Yorkshire universities.

Ubaid Abdul achieved 2 D* grades in ICT and Health and Social Care, plus a B in Psychology and will now go on to study Accounting and Finance at the University of Huddersfield.

Ubaid said,

“I am so relieved and happy with my results, and to secure my place at Huddersfield University. It has been hard work for the last two years, but I am happy it has paid off.”

Ehsan Waheed achieved 4 D* grades in Business, Applied Science, ICT and Health & Social Care. Ehsan will progress to the University of Huddersfield to study computing.

Ehsan said,

“I have always had a passion for computers and technology, and I am really looking forward to going to Huddersfield Uni to study and focus on my passion.”

Maariyah Jabeen achieved 2 Bs and a D* in Psychology, Religious Studies and Health & Social Care and will study Nursing at the University of Huddersfield.

Maariyah said,

“I am so happy I have achieved the results I required to secure my place at university to follow my dream of becoming a nurse. I am so excited!”

Nosheen Mahmood achieved 3 D* grades in Double Business, Applied Science and Health * Social Care and is continuing her studies at Leeds Beckett University studying Human Resource Management and Business.

Nosheen said,

“It has been hard work for the last two years, but I am so happy my hard work has paid off. I have always had a huge interest in the business world, and I am looking forward to pursuing my passion.”
